Home again

Here we are back home after our little jaunt away. An easy ride home over the Remutakas and back to Plimmerton along the northern side of Pauatahanui Inlet. We woke to a bit of fog in Greytown but by the time we’d picked up coffee to go and were heading towards Featherston, the fog had lifted. We left about nine and, after dropping the campervan off at Horizon Pacific in Plimmerton and relocating to our own car, we were back home by midday. And very cold the house was too, though with the heat pump on full blast it didn’t take long to warm the place up.

We really enjoyed our short getaway, and the experience of campervan living. Given it is midwinter, the weather was kind to us. Yes it was overcast and sometimes a bit rainy but we weren’t cold and we weren’t confined to sitting out the weather in the camper (though it has to be said we didn’t overly exert ourselves either). And yesterday in Greytown was a stunning midwinter’s day.

Will we do it again? Well L has a few thoughts on that so I’ll leave it to him to fill you in on those. I’d do it again though I’d like to try the smaller van just for comparision. I suspect it wouldn’t feel much smaller inside yet would be less clunky for driving around towns. We’ll see.

Not much in the way of photos today, just a few taken through the window as we were driving around the inlet.

Also there’s a separate post from L with his thoughts on campervanning.
