I’ve been having photo woes on this trip. In the interests of travelling light, I decided not to bring my camera but use my phone camera instead. This has led to a new refrain of ‘Well, that would have made good photo’, to add to my usual one of ‘I just don’t understand’, usually voiced when I can’t work out what I’m doing wrong with the laptop. The thing is, I’ve always found it tricky to take phone photos. My fingers get in the way, I don’t tap hard enough/softly enough to take the shot, I get the settings wrong, or, most of all, by the time I’ve got everything ready to take the snapshot, the moment has passed. Still, needs must, and there’s usually something to put on the blog. Here’s a few random shots from the train journey to Auckland. If you can spare the 12 hours, this is a great trip. It helped that we had a fine day.
