Normally a seat photo like this would have the man in the hat sitting on it, taking in the view. However L declined to join me for an evening walk last night, saying he was already an overachiever in terms of steps and didn’t feel the need to do more. Not an option for me. I needed to walk off that fish and chips tea.
It’s true, though, that we managed a fair bit of walking yesterday, traipsing the streets of Timaru. We started with a coffee at the Bay Hill Brewery Bar with friends M and K, followed by a bit of shopping (always have to check out the local Farmers, Macpac, and Kathmandu in case there are bargains). Nothing bought except a new charging cable for my phone–the old one gave up after being pulled to pieces by the magnet on my fitbit charger. Sellotape worked, but only for a while.
We wandered and wondered, trying to reconcile the Timaru of today with that of the eighties–the new SHI bypassing Stafford Street, and going under Church Street didn’t help . No trouble finding Caroline Bay though.
Here’s some photos, all but one from my evening walk up to Benvenue Cliffs.
