You won’t believe that J’s dentist rang me when I was looking out from the knob at the top of the Kaikoura Peninsula. I don’t believe that either, mainly because it didn’t happen. What happened was the said dentist phoned J. The trail leading up to the phone call began in a Kaikoura café. We, being J and I, are away to Christchurch.
Now J is, some would say, a bit vague (will this survive Mrs Redpen?), and she had left her little purse at the café. The one that allows access to the family silver. But only if you know the code to get to the code that gives you access to the code that leads to the vault. Given we can vault no more (Vaultnomore was in the Harry Potter books) I think the chances of anyone doing a Bletchley is remote.
The café phoned J’s dentist (the dentist is her emergency contact?) and the dentist phoned J. To cut to the chase we retraced the mile back to the café and reclaimed the little purse. I simply remained in the car and waited to be told to be off.
J returned triumphant with her purse tucked away safely (don’t ask). And we continued on our way.
When we left Picton I did a quick, but complicated calculation, and said we will arrive at our destination at 3.47pm, some 6 hours and 22 minutes away. Tune into my next post to check if I was right. Also maybe I’ll give a clue about the back.
