Saturday
This morning the dog did not bite me. But yesterday he did. Ned the nipper came into the hallway and bit my leg. I was shocked. Clearly the little rascal has issues. With me. It didn’t so much hurt, rather it shocked. He didn’t penetrate through my trousers, but he did raise a bleeding bruise just below my knee. I escaped back into the bedroom and hid under the bed.
In the early afternoon (still yesterday) we set off for the emergency clinic. J tells me that the only thing more toxic than a dog bite is a cat bite.
Some hours later, after we had been triaged, a doctor came in and went out. He told us to stay put.
Some hours later a nurse came in and gave me tetanus jab. Seems the dog didn’t need a jab.
After we got home Ned, the nipper, bit me again. Not sure exactly when as time has become a bit of a slow-moving blur. I guess I am lucky because I already had the tetanus booster.
Tomorrow I will stay under the bed, and the little nipper won’t find me. If he does I am in deep lumber because getting out from under the bed requires a front-end loader and a sledge.
J wants me to stop with all the peripheral detail and do some proper travel writing.
